QuickView is a tool on the Monte Carlo toolbar that can show you a histogram of the simulation data in any cell in your spreadsheet.

Click the QuickView button in the toolbar to open the QuickView dialog and then select the cell you want to analyze. You can paste the generated histogram into your spreadsheet, and it will update any time you run a simulation.

Simulation data and reference cells

Some cells you click on may give you a message that there is no simulation data available.

When running a simulation, we don’t store the values for every cell in the spreadsheet. That would take up too much memory and would slow down the simulation. We only store values for cells that are referenced by a simulation function. This is the concept of a reference cell.

If you want to use QuickView to view a cell that’s not a reference cell, you can run a simulation from within the QuickView dialog. Doing that will temporarily store results for that cell so you can see the resulting data.
